Closer collaboration between Utrecht University and National University of Singapore
17 December 2013
Utrecht University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National University of Singapore (NUS). Utrecht University will collaborate with the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSoM) and NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) to promote medical research and advancement. The institutions also discussed plans to implement fellowship programmes and research projects in disciplines of mutual interest, which includes cardiovascular research.
Both the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care, UMC Utrecht, YLLSoM and SSHSPH share a common vision that aspires not solely to be a center of expertise in
the field of medical and public health, but to proactively use and apply this knowledge to improve the health of both diseased and healthy populations.
Signing of the MOU will help provide us with a committed approach to working more closely on important issues, such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases, by sharing scientific, academic and technical information and two-way exchange of students, faculty, researchers and administrators.
