Valentijn Schweitzer (1987) obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) in 2009. In 2010 he started the Selective Utrecht Medical Master (SUMMA) at the University of Utrecht, of which he graduated as Medical Doctor in 2014.
Since September 2014 he has worked as a research physician at the Julius Center Utrecht, Infectious disease and Epidemiology department under the supervision of prof. dr. Marc Bonten and dr. Edwin Boel. He is also participating in the postgraduate master's program in epidemiology. The major focus of his PhD project is Antimicrobial Stewardship.
Valentijn Schweitzer is currently engaged in the CAP-PACT project, a multicenter trial to improve the treatment of Community-Acquired Pneumonia patients through an Antimicrobial Stewardship intervention.
