UMC Utrecht is JCI accredited!
19 July 2013
UMC Utrecht has distinguished itself on the fields of care, research and education by meeting quality and safety in accordance with the Joint Commission International.
The Joint Commission International (JCI) is a renowned American mark in the field of quality in healthcare. JCI uses the patient as a reference. This means that quality of care, research and education must all benefit the patient.
In July 2013, a JCI accreditation committee visited the UMC Utrecht. For a whole week, the accreditation committee visited different parts of the UMC Utrecht and those tested according to the standards of JCI. The judgment of the accreditation committee was that the UMC Utrecht met the JCI standards.
There are two JCI accredited hospitals in the Netherlands. The Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam was JCI accredited in the field of healthcare in 2011. UMC Utrecht is accredited for both care and education and research.
